Installer Criteria

The Manitoba geothermal industry sector is a dynamic and growing industry. This is reflected in Efficiency Manitoba’s Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) Program, Manitoba Hydro’s Home Energy Efficiency Loan (HEEL), and provincial government incentives. These programs offer some incentive to consumers to either retrofit to geothermal or to consider installation of geothermal in new structures. The MGEA Board of Directors is charged with the mandate of improving geothermal installation requirements in the Province of Manitoba to minimize deficiencies in installed heat pumps to ensure optimum energy efficiency as well as facilitate industry strategies that lead to better consumer protection. The MGEA strongly promotes the need for qualified installers in Manitoba and Canada.
